AEC ( Heritage Trail)

Poster on riots Heritage Trail : National Museum of Singapore During the 3-week term break in June, I embarked on a heritage walking trail. The trail that I have chosen was National Museum of Singapore and Fort Canning Park which were both located near Cityhall Mrt. The National Museum of Singapore is the oldest museum in Singapore. Its history dates back to 1849, when it was started as a section of a library at Singapore Institution and called the Raffles Library and Museum.  (Singaporevr.com, 2017) I choose to go there because there are many history stories kept in the museum, I also choose to go there as it is air-conditional which will keep me cool in Singapore hot weather. >< The interior looks very nice and appealing.  I explored and walk around to see different parts of the museum and to go see the artifacts. I saw the timeline of Singapore's history and the stories about it.  This is a video of Mr Lee Kuan Yew addressing to people ...

Happy 2018!!

Hello 2018! 2017 has recently ended, been quite busy for the first 2 weeks of 2018, so im writing a blogpost for 2018 right now. I really miss 2017. Even though I'm in my pfp year (poly foundation programme), I did enjoyed 2017, not because of my class, but rather because of the amazing friends I made in poly. Even tho most of them are not in my class, but we managed to clique on really well. There are chapters babies, basically pfp students getting choosen for the pfp community. Though i have been really busy because of the work and meetings from it, i have been enjoying it alot so far. they are really special to me, especially when they celebrated my birthday when i just got to know them... 2018 started out pretty hectic as there was sp open house in the first week. i had acer duty along with other pfp students. it was really fun though. i got to take alot of internal bus that is only available during spoh. also the mediacorp photobooth!! the 2nd week of 2018 was hectic too a...

AEC personal reflection

Main contribution: Getting things done within the time frame, logistics Skills learnt: Commitment, more confident/sociable Obstacles faced: time restrain when it comes to interaction, language barrier as well as miscommunication. For example, we only get to interact and share our stories in the short morning session. Also, it is hard to communicate with some elderly especially when I cannot understand Hokkien dialect as well as Malay language. Not only it's hard to understand them, sometimes the venue is also very noisy. For example, the stage speakers were so loud that I couldn't hear what the elderly is trying to tell me. Value-addedness: Confidence of sharing personal stories as well as dedication to give back to the society

Local Art Event - Pioneer Junior College (PJC) concert I went to an local concert to support my senior.  Pioneer Junior College presents ELEMENTAL 2016 Poster of  PJC performing arts concert (Pioneer PJC Facebook page, 2016) Elemental 2016 is an apt metaphor to describe the rich and  dynamic heritage of PJCs performing arts groups. Their performances are fluid and ever-changing; with each moment that the performers present on stage providing a varied and multi-coloured lens of celebrating the arts. The act of immersive viewing could hence, be likened to the intimate relationship between the audience and the performers.  PJC performing arts consist of choir, symphonic band, drance and drama. I decided to support this concert because my seniors that was used to be in Kranji Secondary , were going to perform in the PJC symphonic band. I got to know my seniors as they were onced in Kranji symphonic band. We were close as we were from ...

Food Stylist Well, no one would buy it if it doesn’t look good, right? Image of savoury-looking food from Japan restaurant If you always find yourself saying “Eh! Why my food like that?” whenever it arrives and looks completely different from the display, you’ll now know why. Food Stylist What:   Food stylists ensure that the food on  display  always looks good. They’re the ones who help restaurants entice their customers by making the food look as appealing as possible.  Selecting the accessories such as the table clothes and plates are usually done by the food stylist. Some also act as a photographer as well rather than hiring one. Who:  Food stylists mostly work behind-the-scenes. Their works are most notable in Japan, where fake food is almost everywhere. You can also find their craft in advertisements, where the food looks incredibly delectable. Did you know?  Most food in advertisements are made of stuff that’s...

How did I feel with only $5 a day? I was not complaining at all throughout the day. Even though $5 seem really little , i feel that it was sufficient for me to last a day. Usually I only eat 2 meals a day (Brunch and Dinner) so $5 a day is not an issue for me. On daily basis, I would eat mixed veg. rice that has a meat and a vegetable, which cost only about $2+ each for both ...

Yearly Affair ( 4NA'16)

My schoolmates (I mean my ex-school mates TT) and I would go to an outing together, at least once every year. We went to East Coast Park to cycle. We stayed at the West side of Singapore so we took close to 2 hours to get there. But it was worth it :) When we reach there, we ate breakfast together. We then headed to cycling park and rent our bike.  We found a bike shop that rents out their bike at $10 for unlimited time ride. Hence, we decided to rent from that bike shop as we could ride till late night. We then taught Nathaniel how to cycle so he didn't knew how to. Fortunatly he managed to learned how to cycle at the end of he day. Time passes really quickly when we had fun. Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. Some of them had to leave at around 6pm while the rest of us continue to cycle and eat dinner together. The sunset scenery was really nice. I am so glad that i didnt leave early. The nightcycle was one of the best thing that could ever happen. It was co...
